Who are we?
Noya Rao New Zealand (NRNZ) is a spiritual wellness organisation founded by Ronon Metsa. Our transformative work draws upon the ancient, plant-based healing traditions of the Shipibo people in the Peruvian Amazon, seamlessly woven with the contemplative practices of Eastern disciplines.
At the heart of NRNZ is a deep reverence for the profound wisdom of indigenous cultures and their sacred relationship with the natural world. We believe that by tapping into these timeless teachings and our own innate connection with Mother Earth, we can access our highest human potential for healing, awakening, and living in harmony.
NRNZ offers a range of transformative pathways, from intimate one-on-one containers and longer-term personal transformation journeys, to community-based ceremonies and group retreats, among other offerings. Whatever form the work takes, it weaves together authentic Shipibo ceremonial traditions imbued with generations of shamanic knowledge, alongside meditation, mindfulness, yoga, self-inquiry, and personal transformation work. Our highly skilled and experienced facilitators compassionately guide each person on their unique inner journey.
By offering pathways into the collective wisdom of respected indigenous lineages and perennial non-dual philosophies, NRNZ is devoted to preserving this sacred knowledge. We are committed to empowering individuals to step into their fully realised sovereign self and co-create a more conscious global community.
Ronon Metsa
Ronon is originally from New Zealand and has spent much of his life travelling the world in search of deeper understanding, healing, and ancient wisdom. His journey has taken him through the study of traditional yoga in India, Buddhist philosophy and meditation in Nepal, and ultimately into the Amazon jungle of Peru, where he immersed himself in the Shipibo tradition of plant medicine.
After experiencing the profound depth and transformative power of this work firsthand, Ronon made the decision to fully devote himself to the path. He entered into apprenticeship within the Shipibo lineage, training under multiple maestros in the Peruvian Amazon. Over a number of years, he undertook the rigorous and disciplined process of dieta with various master plants — a path that demands commitment, integrity, and a deep willingness to meet oneself fully. During this time, he also studied the Shipibo language, learned traditional icaros, and supported the facilitation of ceremonies within the jungle.
This foundation has shaped not only Ronon’s work, but the way he walks in the world. His approach is rooted in a deep respect for the traditions he has been trained in, while also holding a clear understanding of the modern Western psyche and the challenges many people face today. He recognises that the work does not end in ceremony, but is truly realised through integration, embodiment, and the way we live our lives day to day.
Ronon now facilitates retreats and immersive experiences around the world, weaving together traditional Shipibo ceremonial practices with meditation, breathwork, and teachings from Eastern traditions. His work is grounded, intentional, and heart-led, with a strong emphasis on creating safe, supportive spaces where individuals can explore, process, and integrate deep physical, emotional, mental, and energetic experiences.
He remains a devoted student of the path, walking with humility, respect for the lineage, and a genuine commitment to those he serves.
